No GAS

This morning we were running a little late for school because the kids were eating like turtles. I quickly round up the kids threw them in the car and started to back out of the drive way, when I look down and see my gas light was on. "No... not today." Spencer is in the back seat saying, " Mom, I am going to miss my field trip." Everything is so spread out here that you don't find a gas station on every corner, you have to drive a ways. So I pull into a gas station and to my disbelief the sign says, "TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK." Are ya kidding me, who runs out of gas? What "gas station" doesn't have gas? Isn't that its main purpose-to have gas! I do a quick U turn and head out of the gas station, hoping I will have enough gas to get me to the next station, which is not close. The kids are going crazy in the back yelling, "Mom, just break the speed limit, go, go, go, FAST." Hum, wonder where they have heard those words. Spencer is still proceeding to tell me how he is going to miss his field trip if we don't hurry, so to just pull out in front of all the cars, (again, wonder who he has been driving with...Um, DAD). I finally said, "You will miss your field trip anyway if we are all dead!" I finally pull into the next gas station and I see little yellow bags around all the pumps that read "OUT OF ORDER". Really, are you serious? Finally, on the last row there were 2 pumps that were usable, Hallelujah!! I put a couple gallons in and off we went. Now, yes of course I hit every light RED along the way, but we ended up at school about 30 seconds before the last bell rang. Thank you!! Talk about eye opener on our economy and being prepared. (Having our lamps full, or in this case our tanks) I have been so frustrated at the price of gas, (remember, I am still driving 30 min to school and back everyday plus basketball, scouts, and church) I guess I never thought about it just not being there at all! Pretty crazy. ( I know mom you are thinking, "I told you never to let your tank get below half").

I bet you thought only girls played dress up...Oh No, this little guy plays Superhero all the time. Who he is on the other hand is still to be determined.

Ixtapa, Mexico

Welcome to Mexico!
Thanks to Uncle Pfizer and all of Tyler's hard work, he won a vacation right before he changed jobs. The vacation had to be used before the summer so here we are!
The kids went and played with Grandparents and cousins for the week and we went to go enjoy a week in the sun.
We had such a wonderful time. We stayed at an all inclusive resort which we had never done before, and I must say it was AMAZING!!
Tyler surfed and went deep see fishing. We sailed out to an island, sat around the pool while people brought us unlimited yummy drinks, walked along the beach, visited with the local people, ate, and ate, and had a blast.
Life sometimes gets so crazy that we forget to stop and take a breath. We are always serving or doing for others, wanting others to be happy, that we forget every once in awhile, WE deserve a day or a week of HEAVEN!
(my pics got out of order. I don't think Crocs are Heaven)

We met some friends along our path. There was a park close by our hotel with all kinds of creatures living in their natural habitat

A moon lit walk

The hotel had a live show every night

Eating dinner on the water and watching the sunset. Does it get any better?

Our Hotel -Melia Azul Ixtapa-

This is where I had countless Strawberry drinks. It makes me miss them just thinking about it.
The view from our room

My breakfast every morning started with Oh... such yummy fresh bread that just crumbled in your hands, topped off with nothing less than authentic Dulce de Leche.
Thank you hun for working so hard for our family. This was a week to remember!

I'M TWO!

I'm faster than fast, I'm Lightning McQueen
Ashton fell and hit his head. After a visit to the doctor and a little glue
he kept saying, "hole head, doctor fix it"

"Mommy, sit on rock, take pitchers Lighting Atween"

Loves playing outside with rocks and bugs

These are just some fun pics. I cannot believe he is already 2 years old-I love him!

Time Out

So, I am in the kitchen and Ashton, who just turned 2yrs. comes running in saying "baby time out, baby time out". I look around the corner and what do I see-his little baby was in time out on the stairs. I started laughing, and of course that just made his day. He started laughing and repeating over and over again the phrase "mommy, baby time out".

Still No House

Well we have been on quite the journey with this house. After several months we finally sold the investment L.A. house and we were so excited to be able to move into our home here in AZ. Well we were supposed to close last Thursday and at the last minute the lady backed out-great timing huh! Nothing like waiting until the last minute. We were also informed that the city didn't have the final inspection on the house and it was not up to code. I was realizing that this house had become the center of all problems, and now we might have to do major damage control to bring it up to code. At this point I was wanting to burn the thing down (however, I realized I would have to answer to someone up stairs ). Needless to say I was pretty sad. For the last 6 months I have been planning where pictures will go, furniture, picking out paint, longing for my 30 min. drive to school and back to be over, being close to church, having a park a couple houses down for the kids to play, being able to have dishes to cook (o.k. or at least have the option to), and finally be free from all boxes piled everywhere! After a good cry not knowing where we were going to live and worrying my children were going to have to change schools 3 times in one year, Tyler came in like the eternal optimist he is and kept telling me how things could be worse and how blessed we are (not that I didn't know these things, I just needed a good girl cry). We have always been so blessed and the Lord is always mindful of us. Just when I thought all roads had come to an end, the Lord stepped in and we got another offer on the house the next day, and the city inspector gave the O.K.--YEAH! So, we will try again and hopefully our home in AZ will still be around if it is where we are supposed to be. Never give up, keep having faith, I guess that is what it is all about! Tyler tells me his Grandpa Garns used to always say, "Life is a test, is a test, is a test"

Old Blog

When we moved to Arizona Tyler started a blog for grandma and grandpa to see pictures from time to time. When I finally decided I was going to give this blogging a try I attempted it through the blog Tyler had started. That system was a little out of my league. At the bottom of this page are some of the posts Tyler and the kids did when we moved here-they are worth a laugh or two.

Everyone is doing it!

We recently moved to Arizona and I have felt a little disconnected with everyone. I have loved reading everyones blogs and it makes me feel a little less homesick. I however am computer illiterate and for that reason have feared doing this...so we will see how it goes.
